MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 24, 2001
better with two access points. The Planner indicated that it is his
understanding that the City Engineer would prefer one curb cut as well.
Heller reported that it is possible to go to one curb cut, but he had a
concern about service and emergency vehicles accessing the site. Heller
reported that the County is agreeable to the two curb cuts as proposed.
Fahey requested that St. John's submit a letter from the Watershed stating
their position on the roof drain issue.
Montour pointed out the large driveway situation that exists on the west
end of St. John's property at this time. Heller explained that there are
currently three curb cuts within 75 feet of one another. St. John's is
proposing to retain the two curb cuts they have not, but spread them out
further and provide a landscaped area between.
Anderson asked about requiring additional parking in the future if the
proposed parking proves to be inadequate. Heller reported that this
requirements was acceptable to St. John's pointing out that they have
adequate room to put in additional parking if needed. Heller indicated that
the parking would be added to the ballfield area. He noted that this area is
already used for overflow parking.
Fahey pointed out that the open issues are the curb cuts and the roof
drains.
The City Planner indicated that his preference is that the number of access
points on major roadways be limited. Heller indicated that the two curb
cuts could be designated in and out if that would help alleviate some of the
concerns.
There was no one present wishing to comment further on this matter.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Fahey, the public hearing was
closed.
Montour pointed out that the grading plan did not consider the
construction of a house on the Savage Lane cul-de-sac. Heller replied that
that was correct, and they would take another look at the grading plan to
manage the addition of the house.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI.UTIONNO. 2001-1-23 -APPROVING THE CONDITIONAL.
USE PERMIT FOR OFF-SITE PARKING AS WEI,I.
