MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 24, 2001
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Montour, Anderson, LaValle.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
ON-STREET The Council reviewed the survey results relative to on-street parking
PARKING - on Twin Lake Road and Twin Lake Trail. The City Administrator
TWIN LAKE indicated that based on the results of the survey, it is staff's
ROAD/TRAIL recommendation that Twin Lake Road be posted no parking on the south
and west sides of the street. It was further noted that this situation can be
re-evaluated in the future to determine whether the restricting is having the
desired effect.
Anderson asked if there was strong opposition to posting both sides of the
street as no parking. Anderson noted the difficulty for emergency vehicles
to access the area.
The City Administrator suggested that the goal was to improve the
currently situation, and suggested that if posting one side of the street is
not having the desired effect, the Council can take another look at the
situation.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI. UTION NO. 2001-1-29 -INSTRUCTING THE PUBLIC
WORKS DIRECTOR TO POST THE SOUTHAND WEST SIDES OF
TWIN LAKE ROAD AS NO PARKING BASED ON THE RESULTS
OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD SURVEY ON THIS ISSUE
The forgoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Montour, Anderson, Fahey, LaValle.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The City Administrator indicated that the Twin Lake Road/Trail
neighborhood will be informed of the no parking designation.
2001 The City Administrator recommended that given that the Twin Lake
PROJECTS area improvement was not ordered, that the improvement of Sextant
UPDATE Avenue be delayed at this time. He explained that given the limited
underground work in the Sextant Avenue project, the City would likely
not receive favorable quotes for that work. The Australian/Bluwood could
proceed, however, since there is limited underground work in this project,
and the project could be handled by a paving contractor. The City
Administrator also suggested some additional work which could be
combined with the Australian/Bluwood project including Thunder Bay
