MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 25, 2001 <br />SUMP PUMP <br />PROGRAM <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Montour, Anderson, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Council discussed in detail "Section I. Administration of Sick Leave" which <br />provides for the conversion of a portion of sick leave to vacation as a reward <br />for perfect attendance. It was the consensus of the Council that rather than <br />establish a recognition program that diminishes sick leave balances another <br />method of recognizing perfect attendance be established. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-4-97 -APPROVING SECTION I AS STATED <br />BELOW: <br />If me employee has no (zero) sick leave usage within a twelve month period <br />commencing July Is` and ending the following June 30~~', the employee will <br />be awarded a $100 gift certificate in recognition of their perfect attendance. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Montour, Fahey, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Council reviewed the recommendation of the Public Works Director <br />relating to sump pump inspections for those properties in the City which have <br />yet to be inspected. Council was in agreement with the recommendation with <br />some modifications to the letter to be sent to property owners. Anderson <br />suggested that the first sentence in the third paragraph be amended to state, "If <br />you do not provide the City with access to your property so that your sump <br />pump can be inspected, we will beimplementing awater/sewer surcharge of <br />$100 per month....". He also suggested that the letter a statement that if the <br />property owner believes he/she received the letter by mistake, they should <br />contact the Public Works Director. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-4-98 -APPROVING THE <br />RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR RELATED <br />TO THE COMPLETION OF THE CITY'S SUMP PUMP INSPECTION <br />PROGRAM SUBJECT TO AMENDMENT OF THE FINAL LETTER TO <br />PROPERTY OWNERS AS DISCUSSED BY THE COUNCIL <br />
