The
CONTRACT Administrator recommended adoption of the contract noting that it would
go into effect on March 1, 2000.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-2-49 -APPROVING THE CONTRACT
WITH.STEVE WESTERHAUS FOR I3UILDINC, OFFICIAL.
SERVICES AS RECOMMENDED 73Y THE CITYADMINISTRATOR
AND AUTHORIZING TILE MAYOR AND CITYADMINISTRATOR
TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON 73EHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (4) Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
ORGANIZED The Council reviewed the proposed amendment to the Organized Refuse
REFUSE Collection Ordinance noting that the amendment would allow exemptions
COLLECTION for employees of refuse collectors. In discussing the amendment the
ORDINANCE Council noted that it would allow garbage trucks to go outside their
designated areas to collect trash. The Council felt that this would defeat
the purpose of organized collection that is to minimize the amount of truck
traffic on roads. The Council felt a better alternative would be to allow
the refuse company employee to haul their garbage to work rather than
allow the second truck onto the street. The Council suggested that the
resident making the request be contacted to determine if this is an
acceptable solution.
12
