MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 8, 2000 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-3-57 -APPROVING THE 2000 WATER <br />AND SEWER BUDGETS AS PRESENTED INCLUDING A WATER <br />RATE INCREASE FOR THE YEAR 2000 A.S OUTI INED IN THE <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT DATED MARCH 3, 2000 <br />The foregoing; resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ORGANIZED The City Administrator presented an amendment to the City's Organized <br />COLLECTION Collection Ordinance which would provide an exemption for those <br />ORDINANCE residents that are employees of refuse haulers providing free refuse <br />collection as a benefit to employees. The City Administrator outlined the <br />specifics of the ordinance which include that the resident would have to <br />bring their refuse to their place of employment if their employer is not the <br />designated hauler for their neighborhood. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 507 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />809.140. (C), OF TILE LITTLE CANADA MUNICIPAL. CODE <br />RELATING TO ORGANIZED REFUSE COLLECTION <br />EXEMPTIONS TO .S`ERVICE <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />INDIVIDUAL The City Administrator presented a proposed ordinance addressing <br />SEWER individual sewer treatment systems. He reported that as a result of the <br />TREATMENT Met Council's review of the City's proposed Comp Plan, the need for an <br />ORDINANCE ordinance addressing individual sewer treatment systems was identified. <br />The Administrator reported that the proposed ordinance addresses <br />monitoring standards which are required for periodic testing, maintenance, <br />and replacement of these systems. He also noted that City Code requires <br />that properties connect to sanitary sewer systems within one year of <br />availability. <br />The Council reviewed the list of properties which are served by individual <br />sewer treatment systems and suggested that sanitary sewer maybe <br />available to some of these properties.
