MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 22, 2000 <br />LITTLE The City Engineer presented plans and specifications for the Little Canada <br />CANADA Road improvement and requested authorization to advertise for bids for <br />ROAD this project. The Engineer pointed out that the plans for the project are <br />IMPROVEMENT also being reviewed by the County and the State. A conceptual layout of <br />the streetscaping component of the project will be submitted to the <br />Council for review within the next week or two. <br />Morelan indicated that he would like to see the conceptual drawings <br />before the actual advertisement for bids is placed. The Engineer indicated <br />that those drawings will be ready within the next 5 to 7 days. <br />The Engineer described the street layout for the Council pointing out that <br />the roadway will consist of 42 feet of pavement and will have three 14- <br />footlanes. The Engineer noted that there will be two driveways off Little <br />Canada Road for The Venetian Inn property. One will line up with the <br />front of the building and the other will be further east. There will be <br />adequate distance from the intersection of Rice and Little Canada Road so <br />that the westernmost driveway will not adversely affect this intersection. <br />The Engineer reported that there will be 8 feet of property from the curb <br />line to the adjacent property lines along Little Canada Road. Six feet of <br />this area will be sidewalks that will fit within the existing right of way. <br />Plantings and paver brick areas will take up the remainder of this 8-foot <br />boulevard. <br />Morelan asked what the driveway separation requirement is from Rice <br />Street The City Planner indicated that a 60-foot separation is required <br />and the westernmost driveway would be 65 to 70 feet from Rice Street. <br />Morelan asked if the center lane on Little Canada Road would be striped. <br />The Engineer replied that it would. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI.
