MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 26, 2000 <br />CUP- <br />221-225 RYAN <br />DRIVE - <br />MIKROT <br />ROOTING <br />.S~UI3.IECT TO COMPLIANCE WITIT TI)'E RECOMMENDATIONS <br />OF THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey opened the public hearing to consider a Conditional Use Permit <br />for open and outdoor storage at 221-225 Ryan Drive, Mikrot Roofing. <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval of the CUP. <br />Scalze pointed out the Planning Commission's recommendation that the <br />security fence be installed on the north side of the landscaped area along <br />Ryan Drive. <br />The Zoning Administrator reported that about 15 years ago there was a <br />consensus between the property owners along Ryan Drive that fencing <br />would be aligned. Mr. Stanke has since upgraded his property and has <br />removed the fence along the firont of his property. The site plan submitted <br />by Milarot Roofing shows the addition of the landscaped area for screening <br />of outdoor storage. However, this landscaped area is shown behind the <br />already existing security fencing. <br />the landscaping. Mikrot indicated that he was not. Scalze pointed out that <br />moving the fence behind the landscaping would improve the appearance <br />of the area. <br />Morelan asked if Mr. Mila•ot would be willing to move the fence behind <br />The Zoning Adminish'ator recommended that the landscaping that Mr. <br />Milarot install, mirror that which was done on the property to the west. <br />This would provide the beginning of a consistent image along the street. <br />The Zoning Administrator agreed that the appearance of the area would <br />also be enhanced if the fencing were moved behind the landscaping. She <br />further noted that no outdoor storage can occur in the first 40 feet of the <br />property. <br />Mikrot pointed out that he would incur the cost of moving the fence in <br />addition to the cost of the landscaping he is being required to install. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion be Morelan, seconded by Pahey, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />tz <br />
