MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 2G, 2000 <br />STREET The Zoning Administrator presented a proposed Street Light Policy <br />LIGHT for the City. It was noted that the residential street light spacing <br />POLICY standards are being increased from 250 feet apart to 600 feet apart except <br />for highly traveled roadways. The Zoning Administrator indicated that the <br />standards in the policy are being applied based on the Comprehensive Plan <br />functional roadway classif cations of City streets. The Zoning <br />Administrator also reported that she tried to identify all street lights within <br />the City, however, there may be some that were omitted given the maps <br />provided by NSP were dated. <br />It was noted that the Sri'eet Light Policy calls for the elimination of some <br />existing lights, the relocation of others, and the addition of some new <br />lights. There is also a reallocation of costs proposed. She further noted <br />that NSP has plans to replace all the City's streetlights with newer fixtures <br />within the next two years. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI, UTION NO. 200/1-4-I 12 -ADOPTING THE STREET I IGHT <br />POLICY AS PROPOSED I3Y TIIE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Morelan, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COUNCIL Fahey reminded the general public that the May and June Council <br />MEETINGS meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each of these <br />months. <br />METRO The City Administrator reported that Metro Transit has implemented the <br />TRANSIT changes requested by the City to their bus routes. They are also <br />REPORT proceeding with the transit hub and will be present at the next Council <br />meeting to present a concept plan for the hub. <br />PUBLIC Morelan Noted the woodchip pile on Edgerton and Highway 36. The <br />WORKS Public Worl<s Director noted that the pile will be used for the Viking <br />ISSUES Drive planting project. <br />Morelan indicated that there is a section of fence in this area which needs <br />replacing as well as a section on West Viking Drive which is in poor <br />23 <br />
