MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 12, 2000 <br />REIMBURSE- The City Administrator presented the Council with a reimbursement <br />MENT resolution which would allow the City to issue bonds next year for <br />RESOLUTION- City costs related to the Little Canada Road improvement. Combining <br />LITTLE CANADA the City's costs for the Little Canada Road improvement in a bond issue <br />ROAD IMP, that would include next year's improvement projects, will provide a cost <br /> savings to the City given that only one bond will need to be issued. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2000-7--169 -DECLARING INTENT RELATING <br />TO COMPLIANCE WITH REIMBURSEMENT BOND <br />REGULATIONS UNDER THE INTERNAL, REVENUE CODE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, Fahey, Scalze, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />NORTHWEST The Council reviewed the request ofNorthwest Youth & Family Services <br />YOUTH. & for a resolution requesting that the County continue the level of funding <br />FAMILY to this agency as has occurred in the past. The County is considering a <br />SERVICES 50% funding decrease to Northwest Youth & Family Services. <br />Scalze indicated that she did not feel it was the City's place to tell the <br />County how they should spend their money, and indicated that the County <br />may have some good reasons for the cut. <br />Morelan suggested that perhaps the City Administrator should contact the <br />County Manager to determine the rational for the funding cut. <br />Fahey stated that Northwest Youth & Family Services does a goodjob and <br />provides an important service to the community. However, he felt it was <br />not appropriate for the City to become involved in the issue. <br />Given there was no motion made by the Council, this matter will not be <br />pursued. <br />EVACUATION The City's Emergency Services Director appeared before the Council and <br />PLAN - reported that North Star Estates would like to modify their interim <br />NORTH STAR evacuation plan which runs through March 31, 2001 to declare the <br />ESTATES the basement of St. John's Church as their storm shelter. Currently the <br />basement of the Old Fire Hall is their designated storm shelter and the <br />City has required that the shelter be opened during storm watches as well <br />
