MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 27, 2000 <br />Fahey noted that the City has not departed from paying the appraised <br />value for a property unless there were compelling reasons to do so. Fahey <br />felt that there were those reasons in this particular case as has been <br />outlined in the City Administrator's recommendation. <br />Morelan stated that he would agree there were compelling reasons to <br />depart from the appraised value if this property were a key redevelopment <br />piece. Morelan felt it was not. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-9-236 -APPROVING THE PURCHASE <br />AGREEMENT FOR THE QUIRIN PROPERTY ON COUNTRY <br />DRIVE AS RECOMMENDED 13Y THE CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITYAI)MINISTRATOR <br />TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />I.ITTI.E CANADA <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (3) Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (2) Morelan, Scalze. Resolution declared adopted. <br />BUDGET Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />WORKSHOP <br />MEETING RESOI. UTION NO. 2000-9-237 - CALL ING A 73UDGET WORKSHOP <br />MEETING FOR WEDNESDAY, OCT013ER I8, Z000 AT 7 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, Pedersen, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LITTLE Morelan asked if there the changes to the storm sewer along Little <br />CANADA Canada Road would have a positive effect on the drainage for The <br />ROAD Mayfield. The City Administrator indicated that the storm sewer <br />IMPROVE- improvements will allow the area to drain more quickly. However, <br />MENT during major storm events, backups are still likely. He also noted that <br /> once Market Place Drive is improved, there will be additional catch basins <br /> installed. <br />Morelan asked if storm water would be redirected into the holding pond. <br />The Administrator reported that the holding ponds could not be <br />constructed to sufficient size to accommodate storm drainage from this <br />13 <br />
