Regular Meeting.- February 2, 1954 <br />It was pointed out that s5.nce County Road "B" is the South vii.lage <br />limits of Little Canada and. since it is a county road, the Village <br />Council does not have complete ,jurisdiction over it. Upon motion <br />by Nadeau, seconded by Vitale, it was <br />"RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk con- <br />tact the County Board. and the County Engineer <br />by written request asking that the proper <br />county authority ma}ce a study of the traffic <br />speed situation on County Road "B" from Ar- <br />cade Street to Rice Street with the end in <br />view that restrictions be imposed. limiting <br />the speed to X50 miles per hour and certain- <br />ly not over 40 miles per hour." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk read a letter from the County Engineer addressed <br />to the Mayor and the Council in reference to the work of the State <br />of Minnesota Highway Study Commission. This letter requested. that <br />the Village Council inform the County Engineer whether it wishes to <br />avail itself of the County l~ngineer's facilities for replying to <br />the request for information from the said Study Gomrnission. Upon <br />motion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />"RESOLVED, that Mr. Bronson.'s letter be <br />referred to the Village Engineer for study <br />and that the Village Engineer be requested <br />to report to the Council. stating c~~hether he <br />is in a position to handle this matter or <br />if he feels that the Village could more <br />economically handle it through th.e County <br />Engineer's office>" <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Nadeau, it taas <br />"RESUI,VED, that Robert Londin be and is <br />hereby appointed to act as Commander of <br />Civilian Defense for the V11.1age of Little <br />Canada and that the necessary Civilian De- <br />fense officials be so notified by the Clerk, <br />and also that the Clerk notify Robert Lon- <br />din of his appointment." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The N,ayor again asked if any persons at the meeting thrished <br />to present any petitions or make any requests of the Council. There <br />was no response from anyone in the room so the Mayor moved on to the <br />matter of: <br />- <br />
