MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 13, 2008 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. LCRA Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: TEMPORARY LIQUOR RESOLUTION NO. 2008-8-192-APPROVING TEMPORARY LICENSES LIQUOR LICENSES FOR THE LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCL4TION PENDNG RECEIPT OF LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE CERTIFICATES: KICKBALL TOURNAMENT -SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 HALLOWEEN DANCE -OCTOBER 25, 2008 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CONDIT The City Administrator reviewed the City Engineer's report dated STREET August 13, 2008 relative to bids received for the Condit Sheet road IMPROVEMENT improvement. Eight bids were received ranging from $246,560.16 to $348,175.42 including bid alternative #1. The Engineer's estimate for the project was $301,000.00. The Administrator noted that there are two easements that must be obtained before the street project can proceed. He recommended, therefore, that award of the low bid should be contingent upon the City's obtaining these easements within a reasonable amount of time. If the easements cannot be obtained, the bids would then be rejected. The Administrator felt that the bid results were very favorable noting the lateness in the bidding as well as current fuel prices. He recommended award of the low bid to Tower Asphalt. The Council asked about the City's experience in working with Tower Asphalt. The City Administrator reported that Tower Asphalt reconstructed Carla Lane and Noel Drive. While the quality of the work was acceptable, there were some issues with subconY~•actors and the maintenance of access. The Administrator noted that the City's bid specs have been modified to address these issues. He also noted that these issues would be discussed in detail at the preconstruction meeting.
