MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 27, 2008 <br />C. W. HOULE <br />AGREEMENT <br />RELATIVE <br />TO KOHLMAN <br />SANITARY <br />SEWER <br />affordable housing in Little Canada when most other cities have a much <br />lower percentage. The City Planner indicated that he is planning to <br />address this issue in the Comp Plan. McGraw noted the section of the <br />City that the Met Council has earmarked for additional affordable housing <br />is actually zoned commercial/industrial. McGraw felt that the City needs <br />to strongly disagree with the Met Council on the issue of affordable <br />housing as it relates to Little Canada given the high percentage that <br />already exists in the City. <br />The City Planner indicated that he will be meeting with Met Council staff <br />as the Comp Plan update process continues. The Planner indicated that he <br />will discuss basing Little Canada's affordable housing goals in reality with <br />Met Council's staff The Planner indicated that he would inform the <br />Mayor and Council Member McGraw of the date and time of the Met <br />Council meetings, and they would be welcomed to attend and lend <br />additional support on this issue. <br />The City Administrator recommended that the proposed agreement with <br />C. W. Houle on the Kohlman sanitary sewer issue be tabled until next <br />Council meeting. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO.2008-8-205 -TABLING CONSIDERATION OF <br />THE KOHLMAN SANITARY SEWER AGREEMENT WITH C. W. <br />HOULE UNTIL THE SEPTEMBER 10, 2008 REGULAR COUNCIL <br />MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />WATERSHED The City Administrator reviewed a Cost Share Agreement with the <br />COST Ramsey/Washington Metro Watershed District for the landscaping <br />SHARE and planting of the hill and retaining wall on the west side of the water <br />AGREEMENT tower at the City Center. The Watershed will provide 50% of material <br />planting costs with total project costs estimated at $5,700. <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008-8-206 -APPROVING THE WATERSHED <br />COST SHARE AGREEMENT FOR CITY CENTER PLANTING <br />14 <br />
