MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 27, 2008 <br />The Council discussed the requirement for painting storage containers. It <br />was their consensus that the containers should be painted to either match <br />the building as closely as possible or painted in a neutral color. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2008-8-198 - APPROVING A TEXT <br />AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING CODE REGULATING THE <br />NUMBER OF STORAGE CONTAINERS ALLOWED ONAN I-I <br />PROPERTY BY CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT BASED ON ONE <br />CONTAINER PER 7,500 SQUARE FEET OFPROPERTYAS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY PLANNER OUTLINED IN HIS <br />REPORT DATED AUGUST 8, 2008 WITH THE ADDITIONAL <br />REQUIREMENT THAT STORAGE CONTAINERS MUST BE <br />PAINTED TO MATCH THE B UILDING AS CLOSELY AS <br />POSSIBLE OR MATCH ONE ANOTHER IN A NEUTRAL COLOR <br />THAT IS NOT IN VAST CONTRAST TO THE BUILDING COLOR, <br />AND SUBJECT TO A BETTER DEFINITION OF STORAGE <br />CONTAINER SPECIFYING MAXIMUM SIZE (LENGTH, WIDTH, <br />AND HEIGHT) WITH STORAGE CONTAINERS NOT ALLOWED <br />TO BE STACKED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (3) Keis, Montour, McGraw. <br />Nays (2) Allan and Blesener. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Allan stated that she opposed the Text Amendment as she would rather see <br />a building than the use of storage containers. Blesener stated that he <br />opposed the Text Amendment as he felt the number of storage containers <br />should be based on outdoor storage area size. <br />VARIANCE Mayor Blesener opened the continued Public Hearing on the Variance <br />& request of On-Site Air Temp to allow more than four storage containers <br />AMENDMENT on their property at 53 Woodlyn Avenue. Blesener noted that given the <br />TO CUP - adoption of the Text Amendment just discussed which now bases the <br />53 WOODLYN number of storage containers allowed by CUP on a property to a ratio of <br />AVENUE - one per every 7,500 square feet of property, the Variance request should <br />ON-SITE AIR be denied. <br />TEMP <br /> Dave Holm, On-Site Air Temp, reported that given the Text Amendment <br /> that was adopted, his need for a Variance no longer exists. There was <br /> discussion as to whether or not it was necessary to deny the Variance <br /> request. Mr. Holm informed the Council that he is withdrawing his <br />
