MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 2008 <br />Blesener also pointed out that by adding an additional full-time deputy at <br />this time, the City delays the imposition of the new formula change by the <br />Sheriff's Department. Montour felt that the additional deputy was a good <br />idea at this time, but noted that it may be difficult to eliminate the position <br />once it is established. Montour felt that the additional deputy will be a <br />benefit to Little Canada. <br />Blesener stated that in proposing a preliminary Gross Levy of 5% at this <br />time, it would still be the Council's goal to work to reduced that number <br />for the final budget. <br />The City Administrator indicated that while the 5% Gross Levy would <br />exceed the City's levy limits, the dollars over the limit would be allocated <br />to a special levy for police staffing as well as a reallocation of debt service <br />dollars. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2008-9-215 -CERTIFYING THE 2009 <br />PRELIMINARYLEVYATA 5% INCREASE, OR $2,506,862 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (1) Keis. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO.2008-9-216 -CERTIFYING THE 2009 <br />PRELIMINARY DEBR LEVY SCHEDULE AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR AND FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (1) Keis. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0.2008-9-217 - CALLING A TRUTH IN TAXATION <br />HEARING FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2008, AT 7:00 P.M., <br />WITH CONTINUATION OF HEARING ON MONDAY, DECEMBER <br />8, 2009 AT 7:00 P.M., IF NECESSARY <br />12 <br />
