Ramsey County will be reimbursing the City $1,355,901 for <br />construction, engineering and testing. The City of Vadnais Heights will be reimbursing the City <br />$130,775 for construction, engineering and testing. <br />For County Road D, street improvements would be funded through the City’s Infrastructure <br />Capital Improvement Fund (Fund 450) and Special Assessments. <br />For Greenbrier Street, street improvements would be funded through the City’s Infrastructure <br />Capital Improvement Fund (Fund 450), Municipal State Aid Funds and Special Assessments. <br />The CIP approved in November identified that Fund 450 would fund $1,272,000 of this project. <br />Based on the bids, Fund 450 will need to fund approximately $1,709,159 of the project. The CIP <br />will be need to be amended in May to reflect the increase in cost for the project. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />I followed up on references provided by New Look Contracting, Inc. and found that the majority <br />of the comments were positive about their workmanship and follow up on project issues. Based <br />on this and the low bid received, Staff recommends that the City Council award the construction <br />contract to New Look Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $2,665,646.55.
