<br /> <br />2021 Sewer Rates <br />A 4% increase in the sewer rates is necessary for 2021 in order to fund current operations. The rate <br />increase will generate approximately $56,000. The rate increase will fund the MCES wastewater charge <br />that will be increasing $49,000 (5.59%) in 2021. <br /> <br />Based on consumption levels at two manufactured home parks that are metered, it recommended to <br />change the flat fee for manufactured home parks that are not metered in Little Canada from $43.64 per <br />unit per quarter to $64.20 per unit per quarter. The old rate seemed to assume a usage of 7,000 gallons <br />per quarter per unit. The new rate assumes a usage of 12,000 gallons per quarter per unit. If water usage drops below first <br />quarter water usage in subsequent quarters, the sewer rate will be <br />adjusted to the lower rate, but never lower than the $45.40 minimum. <br />The first quarter sewer rate is the ceiling for the year. <br />Charged on a per dwelling unit basis. <br /> <br />Based on the 4% percent increase in rates, a 2021 quarterly sewer bill for Little Canada compares <br />favorably to 2020 quarterly sewer bills at 12,000 gallons for surrounding communities. <br /> <br />
