CODE ENFORCEMENT/ RENTAL HOUSING COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> <br /> 3 <br />• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. <br /> <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />• Completed advanced coursework or professional training or certification relating to <br />inspections (housing, code enforcement, building) <br />• Successful completed of a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, vocational certificate, or <br />two years previous experience as a housing or code enforcement officer. An equivalent <br />combination of training and experience will be considered. <br />• Knowledge of housing inspection programs and practices. <br />• General knowledge of municipal housing and zoning codes. <br />• Ability to read and understand construction plans and property surveys. <br />• Experience using some type of rental licensing or code enforcement software for <br />municipalities. <br />• Prefer experience in working with difficult situations with property owners. <br /> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br /> <br />The physical demand here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to <br />successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be <br />made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> <br />Work is performed both outdoors and in office settings. Some outdoor work is required in the <br />inspection of various housing properties. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate <br />computers and various pieces of office equipment. <br /> <br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use <br />hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The <br />employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crawl; speak or hear. <br /> <br />The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities <br />required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and <br />the ability to focus. <br /> <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT <br /> <br />The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee <br />encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
