Manson <br />Attached is a 1•equest from the Taste of Scandinavia for an On-Sale Liquor License that <br />they can use in conjunction with their Caterer's Permit. The addition of the On-Sale <br />Liquor License to their Caterer's Permit allows the business to provide liquor service at <br />events they cater. This would apply to events held both in Little Canada as well as any <br />other cities that Taste of Scandinavia may provide catering services. (The Little Venetian <br />holds an On-Sale Liquor License and a Caterer's Permit for this same purpose.) <br />Currently the Taste of Scandinavia holds an On-Sate Wine License for their <br />restaurant bakery at 2900 Rice Street. <br />The Little Canada Municipal Code currently limits the number of On-Sale Intoxicating <br />Liquol• Licenses to six (five On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor Licenses and one On-Sale <br />Restaurant Intoxicating Liquol• License). Those six licenses have been issued and are <br />active; therefore, no On-Sale Intoxicating Liquol• Licenses available under the Municipal <br />Code. If the Council would like to consider the request of Taste of Scandinavia, a text <br />amendment would be needed to increase the numbel• of On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor <br />Licenses. <br />With 1•egald to State I,aw limitations on the number of On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor <br />Licenses that Little Canada can issue, attached is a copy of State Law. In summary, those <br />limitations ale as follows: <br />Six - On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor Licenses, plus <br />Two - On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor Licenses (Chapter 240, 1987 Laws). <br />Additionally, Chapter 340A.413, Subd. 4. Exclusions from License Limits (attached) <br />does not count On-Sale Liquor Licenses issued to restaurants and bowling centers toward <br />these license limits.
