Public Works Equipment (Pages 40-43) <br />The Public Works Department follows a replacement schedule for identifying trucks and equipment to <br />be considered for replacement. As in the past, once a truck or piece of equipment is identified, an <br />analysis is completed to see if the item needs to be replaced per the replacement schedule or can be <br />deferred to a future year. 2022 equipment purchases include: <br />• Truck to replace 2011 Ford F350-$52,000 <br />• Skid loader to replace 2012 skid loader-$50,000 <br />• Large area mower to replace 2016 groundskeeper-$70,000 <br />• Workman Utility Vehicle to replace 2006 Cushman-$32,000 <br />• Miscellaneous small equipment-$13,250 <br />Fire (Page 44-45) <br />All fire equipment and fire station facility improvements are now included in one fund, the Fire Capital <br />Replacement Fund, to provide more transparency of the fire equipment and fire station improvement <br />costs. The City currently levies $160,000 in property taxes for fire equipment in the Fire Equipment Fund <br />(457). <br /> <br />The aerial truck ($1,352,000) is proposed to be replaced in 2022. The funding is allocated between 2022 <br />and 2023 since the truck will be ordered in 2022 and delivered in 2023. A committee from LCFD is <br />currently meeting to determine the appropriate apparatus to be purchased based on the current and <br />future needs of the department. <br /> <br />Fire Station facility improvements were identified in the Facility Improvement Study totaling $2 million. <br />$1.2 million of these improvements are included in the first five years. 2022 facility improvements <br />include: <br />• Evaluation of the stair tower cracking-10,000 <br />• Cleaning ductwork-$12,875 <br />• Installing apparatus fans, correcting the exhaust system in the apparatus bay-$20,875 <br />• High priority exterior and interior repairs-$13,530 <br /> <br />In addition, the LCFD has requested funding for the following items: <br />• Blinds-$11,000 <br />• Computers-$7,000 <br /> <br />Street Projects (46-47) <br />Street projects to be completed in 2022 include Yorkton Ridge ($331,700), Maple Lane ($313,100), <br />Woodlyn Avenue ($435,700), and Ryan Drive ($548,000). Feasibility reports were ordered for these <br />projects in the fall of 2021. These streets were identified as part of the Pavement Management Plan that <br />was prepared in 2021. <br />A map of the street projects for the next 15 years is included on Page 48. In addition, there are individual <br />yearly maps for 2022-2026 on pages 49-53. <br />Trail Improvements (Page 54-55) <br />$10,000 has been included in 2022 for the Trout Brook Regional Trail. It is intended to be used for match <br />funding if the County moves forward with exploring the trail. This is a County led project. In addition, <br />$15,000 has been included to plan for future trail connections, and $35,000 has been included for <br />easement acquisition for future trails. <br /> <br /> <br />6
