MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />NOVEMBER 10, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />The Community Development Director replied that 12 feet would be the maximum height for the <br />materials stored. She noted that the Fire Marshall also visited the site to complete an inspection <br />and ensure that the location was appropriate for the racking. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller confirmed that the 12 feet height would be the maximum for the materials on the <br />racking. He confirmed that the outdoor storage is kept behind the building and is screened by <br />fencing, shrubbery, and a retaining wall. He commented that the building is about 18 feet in <br />height. <br /> <br />Commissioner Buesing commented that the materials would then not be above the height of the <br />building. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson clarified that the shelving height is not increasing, this increase would <br />only be to allow materials on the top shelf. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller confirmed. <br /> <br /> Quarles introduced the following motion: <br /> <br />RECOMMENDING THE APPROVAL OF A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />AMENDMENT TO ALLOW AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE OUTDOOR STORAGE <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR RACKING IN THE FENCE <br />STORAGE AREA OF THE PROPERTY TO BE ALLOWED UP TO A HEIGHT OF <br />12 FEET, FROM EIGHT FEET CURRENTLY FOR THE PROPERTY AT 2956 <br />YORKTOWN BLVD, PID 062822240009. <br /> <br /> The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Johnson. <br /> Ayes (5). Nays (0). Motion passed. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: TEXT AMENDMENT – CITY CODE CHAPTER 202 – <br />YOUTH COMMISSIONER <br />The Community Development Director stated that this item was also reviewed by the Park and <br />Recreation Commission as it is a change to the City Code. She stated that the proposed <br />amendment would allow the Planning Commission and Park and Recreation Commission to add <br />a youth member. She stated that staff would reach out to the schools to solicit a youth <br />commission member, which would run for a one-year term beginning in July of each year. She <br />noted that another item would be updated in the Code related to absences as that is not something <br />the City follows. <br /> <br />Chair Schwalbach asked if the youth member would sit with the Commission and participate as a <br />member.
