MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />NOVEMBER 10, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />The Community Development Director confirmed that the youth member would be a voting <br />member. <br /> <br />Commissioner Buesing asked if the youth member would be counted in the quorum. <br /> <br />The Community Development Director replied that she believed that the quorum would be <br />determined by regular members and the student member would be in addition. She confirmed <br />again that the youth member would have a vote. <br /> <br />Chair Schwalbach asked if the youth members would go through an interview process. <br /> <br />The Community Development Director confirmed that an application and interview process <br />would be conducted. <br /> <br />Commissioner Quarles stated that when she first tried to join the Commission, she was 18 and <br />there was not an open position for someone still trying to figure things out, so she believed this <br />would be a good addition. She asked why it would be a requirement that the student be enrolled <br />in school. <br /> <br />The Community Development Director replied that a student would be able to continue on in <br />their term after graduation until the term ends in July. She confirmed that once the term ended, <br />and the youth member was 18, they could apply for a regular position on the Commission. <br /> <br /> Buesing introduced the following motion: <br /> <br />RECOMMENDING THE APPROVAL AND ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 202 – PLANNING COMMISSION TO THE CITY <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br /> The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Quarles. <br /> Ayes (5). Nays (0). Motion passed. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: TEXT AMENDMENT – TABLED ACCESSORY <br />DWELLING UNIT <br />The Community Development Director stated that the zoning code changes were approved by <br />the City Council at its review. She noted that portions of the language were tabled with direction <br />to complete community engagement, including accessory dwelling units. She stated that the <br />intent is to gather that information in order to engage the needs of the community. She noted <br />that once that process is completed, she would bring back information for the Commission to <br />review. She asked that this item continue to be tabled and noted that staff would bring this back
