She hoped to bring the item back sometime in <br />early 2022. <br /> <br />Chair Schwalbach agreed that this could continue to be tabled. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson stated that she believes that it is great that there is a plan to move <br />forward rather than indefinitely tabling the item. <br /> <br />Commissioner Quarles noted that she would submit her comments and input via email. <br /> <br />The Community Development Director noted that she will continue to provide updates to the <br />Commission throughout this process. <br /> <br /> Schwalbach introduced the following motion: <br /> <br />TO CONTINUE TO TABLE THE ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT LANGUAGE <br />UNTIL MORE INFORMATION IS GATHERED TO BE BROUGHT BACK AT A <br />FUTURE MEETING <br /> <br /> The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Johnson. <br /> Ayes (5). Nays (0). Motion passed. <br /> <br />A resident volunteered to participate in the process. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: E. MINN. STAT. 412.211 – REAL ESTATE <br />ACQUISITIONS, SALES, AND OTHER DISPOSITIONS <br />The Community Development Director stated that this item will be moving forward to the City <br />Council but also needs to come before the Planning Commission. She stated that there is a <br />property at 2750 Rice Street that is for sale and the City can use TIF funds to purchase the <br />property. She stated that the City is interested in purchasing the property to assemble it with <br />other properties for redevelopment opportunity. She stated that the Commission has the <br />authority to review any properties the City may be interested in purchasing or selling. She stated <br />that the City Council will review the item at its worksession on November 17th. <br /> <br />Chair Schwalbach stated that he is not aware of other properties for sale in the area. He asked <br />what the City would do with the building if acquired. <br /> <br />The Community Development Director noted that the building could be demolished, or the <br />structure could be utilized for other opportunities such as an indoor farmers market space or <br />other community purpose. <br /> <br />Commissioner Buesing asked if the City has inspected the building.
