MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 13, 2008
the project will move forward as discussed previously. The CVS building
will be moved four feet to the south, and curbing will be added to the drive
area between the north and south buildings. The drives around each
building will be one-way, and the drive aisle between the two buildings will
be one way to the west toward Rice Street.
Knudsen noted the correspondence from Ramsey County Public Works
Department relative to access points on both Rice Street and County Road
C. Lennander reported that he has met with the County and has a revised
recommendation that he will submit prior to the Council meeting. The
County has agreed to allow both access points on Rice Street without
restrictions. The County Road C access point will be restricted to right
in/right out at the time that County Road C is upgraded and a median
installed. The County estimates that will occur in 2012.
Knudsen reviewed the City Engineer's report dated November 6, 2008.
Lennander reported that he is in agreement with these recommendations and
will add the drainage and utility easements to the final plat.
Duray asked about the addition of sidewalks. Lennander reported that he
has discussed sidewalks with the County expressing concern that they
would be put in and then torn out when the County upgrades Rice Street.
Lennander reported that those concerns have been resolved, and they will
install sidewalks the length of their property. Duray asked about fencing.
Lennander reported that if the budget allows for fencing, it will be installed.
Duray asked the distance between the two buildings. Lennander reported
that there is about 50 feet between the current buildings. The distance will
be 30 to 35 feet between the north building and the new CVS building.
Within that 30 to 35 feet there will be a single drive, curbing, and islands.
Again this drive will be one-way out to Rice Street.
Duray asked about colors on the CVS building. Lennander reported that the
yellow will be changed to beige. There will also be emphasis added to the
arches on the building.
Duray recommended approval of the Final Plat for the Centre Place 2"d
Addition subject to compliance with the recommendations of the City
Planner, City Engineer, and the revised recommendations of Ramsey
County Public Works Department.
Motion seconded by Knudsen.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
-2-
