Notes should be include to address possible vertical
conflicts – perhaps installing water services low so that storm sewer can come in over the top
after. Include insulation where water services and storm sewer have less than 18” of separation.
• Sheet CU-105 / Street H: Extend SANMH-12 to the north so that the water service to east can be
installed straight. Similar note for SANMH-13.
• Sheet CU-106 / Street G: watermain in profile view appears to be just over 5’ deep in many
locations… Ensure 7.5’ of cover is provided for all watermain across the project – double check
all locations.
• Sheet CU-106 / Street G: sanitary sewer manholes in profile view appear to have sumps below
the pipe invert. This applies to many manholes throughout project – check all of them.
• Sheet CU-106 / Street G: SANMH-9 rim is floating above the design street profile
• Sheet CU-106 / Street G: review possible sanitary sewer service / watermain conflicts on the
north end. Also review water service / storm sewer crossing conflicts per previous comments.
• Sheet CU-107 / Street 4: is there any benefit to installing the water and sewer service to Lot 3 BL
31 as part of the First Addition work? I think they could be installed in a future additions as well.
• Sheet Cu-107 / Street 4: no watermain stub annotation provided. Refer to previous notes
regarding watermain stubs.
• Sheet CU-108 / Street 2: 18” minimum separation does not appear to be provided between
storm sewer and watermain crossings near stations 19+60 and 20+50. Provide insulation when
only 18” is provided.
• Sheet CU-108 / Street 2: general note for all sanitary sewer stubs –show future sanitary sewer
extension in a grey hatch to the next/future manhole. Will likely need to extend plan and profile
views. Showing the future pipeline helps ensure current design grades will accommodate
extensions.
Detail Plates
• Include 2022 version of City of Little Canada detail plates (some details in plans are not current)
• Include typical MnDOT pedestrian ramp details

Sincerely,
Bolton & Menk, Inc.

Eric Seaburg, PE
Little Canada City Engineer
