MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 14, 2022 <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2022-12-145 — APPROVE RATIFYING THE 2023 SALARY WAGE <br />SCALE AS PRESENTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Torkelson. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PUBLIC HEARING — SUPPORT FOR MAXWELL LABS MINNESOTA INVESTMENT <br />FUND PROGRAM APPLICATION <br />The Community Development Director reported that the City was contacted by representatives from <br />the Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED), Maxwell Labs, and their real <br />estate broker. Maxwell Labs is a computer technology company currently located in St. Louis Park, <br />MN and they would like to relocate to the City of Little Canada. This project would not only bring <br />existing employees to Little Canada, but add several additional employees with the proposed <br />expansion of their business. <br />The property located at 3080 Centerville Road is zoned Office Industrial Park (I-2) and allows <br />for this type of industrial business with no additional zoning applications. They will be utilizing <br />4,500 square feet in the existing building They are seeking Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF) <br />funding from DEED and the relocation/expansion of the business to Little Canada is contingent upon <br />receiving this funding. According to the MIF program guidelines, the application must first be <br />submitted to the local jurisdiction to conduct a public hearing and gather public input on the proposed <br />project. The City Council from the local jurisdiction is also asked to adopt a Resolution of Support <br />prior to final consideration by DEED staff. <br />Jacob Balma, Maxwell Labs, stated they are currently located in St. Louis Park, but they are growing <br />and they found a great space in Little Canada. He stated this MIF financing will help them hire the <br />additional staff <br />Keis opened the public hearing. There were no comments from the public. <br />Upon motion by Torkelson, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was closed. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2022-12-146 —APPROVE RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR <br />MAXWELL LABS MINNESOTA INVESTMENT FUND APPICATION TO <br />MINNESOTA DEED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. <br />Ayes (5).
