MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 25, 2009
necessary, asking that the City leave the industrial property owners alone.
Stanke felt the license has become an issue because of one bad property
owner in Ryan Industrial Park.
Blesener noted Stanke's request to table action on this ordinance until
Apri122"d, and indicated that that is what the Council will do this evening.
Stanke again demanded a business list. The Administrator replied that he
would provide him with a zoning map. Stanke asked about PUD
properties questioning why the ordinance would not apply to these
properties. Stanke felt this was a double standard.
It was the consensus of the Council to not debate the issue any further
given Mr. Stanke's request that action on the ordinance be tabled until the
April 22"d Council meeting.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2009-3-70 -CONTINUING THE PUBLIC
HEARING AND TABLING ACTION ON THE PROPOSED
OUTDOOR STORAGE LICENSING ORDINANCE UNTIL THE
APRIL 22, 2009 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
STREET The City Administrator reviewed his report dated March 20, 2009
SWEEPER relative to the street sweeper to be purchased jointly with the City of
Falcon Heights. The Administrator explained in detail that due to the
provisions of the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture,
MacQueen Equipment cannot provide the initial pricing quoted for the
street sweeper, and the cost will be an additional $10,271.93.
The Administrator reviewed the options outlined in his letter which
include proceeding with the purchase at the additional price, or cancelling
the purchase. He noted that the Ramsey/Washington Watershed District
will be considering the possibility of providing partial funding for this
type of purchase as a demonstration project this fall. The City pursued
this option with the Watershed last year and were told that it would not be
possible. The Administrator placed the odds at no better than 50/50 that
the Watershed will undertake the project in the fall. Another option for
delaying the project would be to identify additional partnering
relationships, but he was not aware of any options in this regard.
11
