MAINTENANCE WORKER 2 – PUBLIC WORKS JOB DESCRIPTION <br />2 <br /> <br />g. Inspects, maintains, and cleans ditches and culverts and any other maintenance as <br />assigned in the street area. <br /> <br /> h. Assists in sweeping streets, parking lots, sidewalks, and trails. <br /> <br />i. Mows City boulevards using tractor and flail mower. <br /> <br /> j. Other duties as assigned. <br /> <br />2. Routine maintenance of sanitary, storm sewer, water main and lift stations: <br /> <br />a. Repairs hydrants. Removes and replaces parts as needed. <br /> <br />b. Flushes hydrants as assigned. <br /> <br /> c. Installs, tests, and reads water meters. <br /> <br />d. Raises and lowers gate valve boxes. Replaces broken valve boxes and cleans them as <br />needed. Exercises and operates gate valves as assigned. <br /> <br />e. Paints fire hydrants as directed. <br /> <br />f. Takes water samples using proper procedures. <br /> <br />g. Cleans storm catch basins and raises and lowers manholes to street grade. <br /> <br />h. Operates sewer jetter/vacuum combination unit for the purpose of flushing and cleaning <br />storm and sanitary sewers. <br /> <br />i. Repairs pumps, motors, and related equipment at the booster station and lift <br />stations. <br /> <br />j. Performs daily checks as assigned on all lift stations and booster station. <br /> <br /> k. Flushes dead end manholes twice a year. <br /> <br />l. Cleans and inspects manholes as needed in conformance with the established safety <br />standards. <br /> <br /> m. Televises sanitary and storm sewer mains and services. <br /> <br /> n. Locates City utilities for any locate requests. <br /> <br /> o. Performs inspections of private sewer and water connections to City mains. <br /> <br /> p. Other duties as assigned. <br />
