Connects the volunteer with the referred organization to transfer copies <br />of any needed paperwork, such as the volunteer intake form and proof of verification, and <br />completes any additional paperwork needed for onboarding specifically to that organization. In <br />a small operation, this position may be combined with the Verification Coordinator. <br />• Training Coordinator. Provides orientation and training for new VRC staff. Provides basic safety <br />training to newly onboarded volunteers. In some circumstances, may provide additional training <br />to newly onboarded volunteers if such training is defined and agreed upon between volunteer <br />service organizations and the VRC. In a large operation, there may be a Lead Training <br />Coordinator and Support Training Coordinators. In a small operation, this position may be <br />combined with the Deployment and Demobilization Coordinator. <br />• Deployment and Demobilization Coordinator. Provides volunteer with deployment orders, <br />including job action sheets and supervisor contact information. Arranges transportation if <br />provided. Issues badge and demobilization paperwork. Follows up to collect demobilization <br />paperwork once mission is completed. In a large operation, there may be a Lead Deployment <br />and Demobilization Coordinator and Support Deployment and Demobilization Coordinators. In a <br />small operation, this position may be combined with the Training Coordinator. <br />3.5.4.3 Activities <br />The following tasks must be completed to ensure success during the activation and operation of the <br />VRC: <br />• Work with the VDCB Director and other VDCB Group Supervisors to understand resources <br />available and current needs and to maintain situational awareness. <br />• Identify and prepare volunteer reception centers (VRCs) and begin assembling needed <br />equipment and supplies. <br />• Identify and coordinate with those voluntary organizations that could aid in operating the <br />unaffiliated volunteer program. <br />• Set up the VRCs that are activated and determine how each facility will be logistically supported. <br />• Staff VRCs with volunteer or paid workers, conducting on-the-job training as needed. <br />• Mobilize, receive, coordinate, refer, and deploy volunteers as needed. <br />• Keep records of volunteers deployed and thank volunteers. <br />• Maintain accounts of expenses, individual work hours, etc., to support match requirements for <br />public assistance in case of a disaster declaration. <br />• Prepare SitReps for the EOC documenting requested EEIs, such as number of volunteers <br />processed, deployed, and any unmet needs. <br />3.5.4.4 Additional Considerations <br />• All unaffiliated volunteers participating in the official response or recovery must be registered <br />with the County or municipality. This may be done using DART or paper forms.
