MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
.7anuary 6, 1994
Wehrle asked Rue if he was aware of how much debris was on
the park property and how much grading would have to be
done. Rue indicated that he was aware and would level the
property.
Wehrle stated that they want the property to work as a park,
but would accommodate Rue's request if possible.
Rue felt that a survey of the Trane Company property was not
necessary yet. He thought that some preliminary
measurements could be taken to just verify some items.
Hartmann asked Rue where additional parking could go if the
plan was not approved. Rue indicated that he had submitted
a plan previously where parking was placed on the south side
of the park property, but it was not favored since the
parking would abut residential property.
Wehrle asked if the eight feet of park property for
additional parking on the east side would work for the Trane
Company. Rue stated that it would work, but he wants to
make sure the measurements are correct.
Holm asked who would use the volleyball court. Rue stated
that the employees from Trane Company and the neighbors in
the area.
Wehrle asked how often the loading dock is used. Rue
indicated that it is used five to eight times daily.
Greger asked if Rue saw the parking on the north end as an
obstacle for the trucks using the loading dock. Rue stated
that he did and indicated that maintaining the loading dock
is critical. Rue felt that if the parking was moved back,
it could disrupt the trees.
Wehrle stated that he was willing to meet with Sanders to
measure the property. Sanders felt that possibly a small
survey should be done to make sure the measurements are
accurate.
Remerowski felt that the whole piece of park property should
be sold to Rue instead of cutting the small piece of
property apart. Remerowski felt that additional park land
could be purchased in a different location. If the property
were to be sold to Rue, Wehrle would want to see a buffer
between the trail access and industrial area maintained.
-3-
