tM 1. NU'CES
Parks & Recreation Commission
February 3, 1994
Magnuson felt that the Spooner Park tennis court resurfacing
and roof repairs could not wait. Wehrle agreed stating that
they should be done in 1995. All Commission members agreed.
Wehrle asked where Pioneer Park site amenities could be
placed. He liked the idea of trying to obtain donations,
but felt something should be budgeted. Sanders felt the
$5,000 could be split between 1995 and 1996.
Wehrle felt that Gervais Mill paving should be postponed
possibly to 1998 to see how the wood chips work out.
Sanders agreed.
Remerowski felt that the Pioneer tot lot on the Desoto
Street side should be a low priority since there is already
one in the park. He felt that it should be left in
unallocated. Everyone agreed.
Wehrle asked where the site amenities for Gervais Mill
should be placed. He felt that Pioneer Park site amenities
should be done first. Therefore, he suggested placing
Gervais Mill site amenities in 1997 and 1998.
Wehrle felt that park signage should be addressed. He felt
that signs could be done yearly, possibly one a year. He
stated that a sign is needed at Pioneer Park for sure.
Johnson thought that it would be less expensive to do them
all at once. Remerowski felt that the Pioneer Park sign
should be placed in 1995 if it is not too expensive. He did
not agree with spending $5,000 on the sign. Wehrle stated
that it could be placed in 1995 without a figure. Sanders
stated that the Gervais Mill signage could wait until the
parking lot on Edgerton Street is added. Wehrle stated that
he would like to see a sign at Thunder Bay Park since there
is a play area there that many people do not know about.
Sanders felt that $1,000 could be allocated for each of the
signs.
Wehrle recommended placing two signs for Pioneer Park at
$1,000 each in 1995, one sign at Nadeau Wildlife Park at
$1,000 in 1995, one two directional sign at Gervais Mill
Park at $2,000 in 1996 and one sign at Thunder Bay Park at
$1,000 in 1996.
Magnuson stated that she would like to see the Pioneer
volleyball court in. Wehrle felt that the volleyball court
should be moved to 1996.
-13-
