Public
Works staff is currently top dressing fields by hand.
Morelan indicated that the job could be done more
efficiently with a top dressing machine.
Remerowski felt these funding requests should be
submitted.
Morelan suggested that the l0% Committee will likely meet
again later in the year as part of the 1995 Budget
planning process.
Hartmann suggested that park benches and picnic tables at
Pioneer Park also be included in the request.
Remerowski pointed out the information in the last City
newsletter asking for donations for items such as benches
and picnic tables.
It was the consensus of the Commission to give more
thought to 10% funding items, with the Commission
finalizing that listing at its next meeting.
TREE GRANTS Sanders reported that he has not heard whether or not the
City~s two tree grant applications received approval.
That notification should be coming soon. Sanders
reminded the Commission that the City has submitted two
tree grant applications, each for $5,000 in funding.
These are both matching grants. One grant would require
a $5,000 cash match on the part of the City, while the
other would require a combination of cash and in-kind
match. Both grants are for Gervais Mill Park.
Morelan suggested that if the grants are approved, the
Commission will have to change around its 1994 funding
priorities to ensure that the $5,000 cash match is there.
Morelan did not believe that would be a difficult task,
pointing out that improvements to Gervais Mill Park are
high on the priority list.
ARBOR DAY Sanders reported that a
being planned for Saturn
Park.
