MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
May 5, 1994
Wehrle felt that it was just the connotation of the event
that happened that bothered him. He had a problem with
commemorating such an event at the park.
Greger recommended planting a tree at Pioneer Park and
placing a plaque at City Hall in memory of "Bud" the canine
dog that was killed in the line of duty at Montreal Courts.
Motion seconded by Remerowski.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
COMMUNITY Wehrle commented that he would like to make sure that the
SURVEY park system is adequately covered within the community
survey that the City Council is having done. Wehrle asked
about the status of the survey. The Director stated that to
his knowledge, the survey has not been started yet.
Wehrle felt the Commission should recommend some issues for
the Council to cover in their survey relating to the park
system. Wehrle suggested adding more
picnic tables, site amenities in general, and bike racks at
Pioneer Park. He also suggested adding the funding for the
matching grants.
Wehrle asked the Commission if they had any problems with
the Director's suggestions. No one commented.
Wehrle asked the Director if there was a time line on the
issue. The Director felt that discussion could continue on
this item until mid-summer.
Hartmann felt that a batting cage should be added to the
list since there is only one now, but there are two batting
machines. He commented that one machine sits idle now. He
-7-
