MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />May 5, 1994 <br />thought that one cage and machine could be used at Spooner <br />Park so there would be a cage/machine at two different <br />locations. The Director agreed that two cages would help <br />utilization even though time slots are not filled up for its <br />use. <br />Holm asked about score boards for Pioneer Park. Remerowski <br />stated that there has been discussion on score boards, but <br />they are a very low priority. <br />The Director stated that the Commission should finalize the <br />list by July's meeting and the list should be prioritized. <br />Wehrle indicated that in 1993, items on the l0% fund list <br />ranged in price from $500 to $23,000. In 1994, the items on <br />the list are between $5,000 and $10,000. <br />Wehrle stated that the 10% list can be discussed at the next <br />couple of Commission meetings. <br />MASTER PLAN Wehrle stated that the Commission should continue reviewing <br />& POTENTIAL sites for potential park land. Remerowski commented that he <br />PARK LAND would like to see more facts on the sites. He stated that <br />he has seen them, but does not know much about them. <br />Wehrle stated that the Commission should receive information <br />on the plats, ownership, and price of the lots for sale. <br />The Director stated that he is in the process of obtaining <br />that information and the City Administrator stated that he <br />will be contacting the owners next week. The Director <br />stated that he will have more information on this matter by <br />the next meeting. <br />TOUR OF THE Greger asked if the tour of the parks would continue at <br />PARKS 6:30 p.m. before the next Commission meeting. Wehrle <br /> indicated that the Commission should tour the Denery <br /> property north of Windrow Drive. Other land to be toured <br /> will consist of the Turnquist property, Frederickshaven <br /> property, and Twin Lake Pines. It was decided to start the <br /> tour of the parks at 6:30 p.m. before the next meeting. <br />GERVAIS MILL Sanders stated that the tree planting was not done on Arbor <br />UPDATE Day at Gervais Mill Park. However, the Watershed District <br /> will be doing the planting on their own. Sanders stated <br /> that they will be planting 500 trees/shrubs in the area. <br />Sanders stated that the grading will be finished first with <br />seeding to follow as soon as possible. Wehrle asked if the <br />City has any jurisdiction for approving the grades in the <br />park. Sanders indicated that it is under contract with the <br />Watershed District. Therefore, they will be performing all <br />the inspections. <br />-8- <br />
