MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />June 2, 1994 <br />would consider donating a plaque. Remerowski stated that he <br />would check into a possible donation of the plaque. <br />PIONEER PARK VanSchoonhoven stated that Councilman Steve Morelan has had <br />FENCING several people comment that the fencing in Pioneer Park <br />should be extended. They felt it should be lengthened from <br />10 feet to 20 or 25 feet past the foul lines. <br />Sanders felt an extension like that would crowd the walkway. <br />He thought it should not be done unless there is a good <br />reason such as a safety concern. Wehrle felt an extension <br />would not make a big difference. Remerowski stated that <br />this is a low priority item and there is no funding <br />available. Wehrle recommended that no action be taken on <br />the issue at this time. <br />RAMSEY COUNTY Wehrle asked if there were any Commission members interested <br />PLANNING in serving on any of Ramsey County~s Strategic Planning <br />PROCESS Process committees. No one showed interest. Wehrle <br />encouraged the members to read the information over on the <br />committees and contact the City Administrator if they were <br />interested in serving on a committee. <br />COMMUNITY Wehrle stated that serving on a community survey <br />SURVEY committee is a fun process and very important. He indicated <br />that this type of survey is a back-up for decision making. <br />Wehrle asked if any of the Commission members were <br />interested in serving on the committee. Greger and <br />Remerowski showed interest. Magnuson showed interest <br />depending on the time commitment. <br />Wehrle told members to notify the City Administrator if they <br />were interested. <br />10~ FUNDING Wehrle asked if there were any more items to add to the <br />LIST 10o funding list. Remerowski felt that the Commission <br />should just prioritize the items already on the list. <br />Wehrle stated that he would put together a list of the items <br />already on the l0% funding list to be prioritized by the <br />Commission at their July meeting. Johnson indicated that <br />she would not be present at the July meeting. <br />POTENTIAL The Commission members reviewed a report on potential park <br />PARK LAND land sites put together by the Administrative Assistant. <br />SITE5 <br />VanSchoonhoven asked if the Commission would like staff to <br />contact NSP regarding an easement on their property west of <br />Edgerton Street under the power lines. The Commission did <br />want staff to contact NSP and also contact the owner of the <br />lot for sale north of the power lines on Edgerton Street. <br />Remerowski stated that staff should also verify if the land <br />-7- <br />
