MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
October 6, 1994
due to the easements on the property.
Schletty stated that he is just moving the lot line.
Schletty commented that he purposely made the driveway
easement into his property very narrow so that no one could
ever build on his 11 acres since it is locked in. Schletty
stated that he wishes to preserve the natural setting.
Remerowski recommended waiving park land dedication fees
relating to the simple subdivision as proposed by Fred
Schletty.
Motion seconded by Holm.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
PARK Remerowski stated that the City Administrator had supplied
DEDICATION the information in the Commissions agenda packets on park
REQUIREMENTS dedication requirements for the Commission's review. He
felt that this was just an informational item.
COMMUNITY Remerowski asked for the Commissions comments on the
SURVEY proposed telephone survey. Greger stated that the survey
was too lengthy for a telephone survey. He felt that it
asks a lot of leading questions to help get positive answers
for the City to increase revenues, and he felt that if the
City is able to move on it fast enough, it would be most
beneficial to be presented to people who actually have an
interest in the community. This could be done by having
written copies of the survey available for residents when
they vote at the General Election in November. He thought
that people who have a vested interest in the community
would be the ones turning the written survey in.
Holm agreed that the survey was too lengthy for a telephone
call. In addition, he felt that some questions were so
vague that it would be hard for people to answer.
Johnson felt that some questions may be difficult to
casually answer over the telephone since they may require
more thought or discussion.
Greger stated that a telephone survey is not a good means to
get accurate information since people need time to answer
the questions.
Remerowski stated that he would like to know the opinions of
the people who are going to stay in the City. He was not as
concerned about what people think who are planning to live
in the City for six months or less, and felt they should not
influence this survey.
-3-
