MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 29, 2023 <br />The City Engineer explained tonight the Council is asked to consider multiple resolutions related to a <br />proposed intersection project the City has been working on plans for with Ramsey County and <br />MnDOT. He stated that they have been working on concepts to determine what would be feasible and <br />develop cost estimates for the project. He stated that the long-term solution for the intersection would <br />be expensive, and the City could not afford that on its own. He stated that multiple funding options <br />have been identified that could possibly contribute towards this project. He noted that the City and <br />County have been working on improvements along this corridor. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that the Council is being asked to support the submission of grant <br />applications and asked why that request would come before the Council. <br />The City Administrator stated that each of the grant applications require a letter of support from the <br />Council. He noted that the scope of the project was approved in 2022 and they have been working to <br />identify options, solutions and funding sources since that time. <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023-11-148 —AUTHORIZING REQUEST FOR <br />CONGRESSIONALLYDIRECTED SPENDING FOR THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD <br />AND COUNTRYDRIVE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023-11-149 — A UTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF HIGHWA Y <br />SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMAPPLICATION FOR THE LITTLE CANADA <br />ROAD AND COUNTRYDRIVE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023-11-150 —AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF LOCAL <br />PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMAPPLICATION FOR THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD AND <br />COUNTRYDRIVE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (5).
