MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 13, 2024 <br />Ms. Nauman stated that perhaps that will occur in the future once the implementation rolls out. She <br />agreed that should be an issue they continue to keep an eye on. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that smaller cities with smaller staff often do not have the resources readily <br />available to administer those services. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-3-28—APPR0VING THE CONSENT AGENDA WHICH <br />CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING. - <br />Approval of the Vouchers <br />• Approve Agreement with RES Pyro for 2024 Canadian Days Fireworks <br />• Approve Reapportionment of Assessments at 2851 & 2857 Vanderbie Street to New <br />Parcel ID Numbers <br />• Approve New Premises Permit for Little Canada Fire Department to Operate Lawful <br />Gambling at 80 Little Canada Road E <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Gutierrez. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />STAFF REPORTS <br />AWARD BID FOR 2024 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />The City Engineer explained tonight the Council is asked to consider awarding the contract for the <br />2024 street improvement projects. He reviewed the project areas, proposed improvements, and bids <br />received. He also provided details on the requested budget transfer and change order #1. He reviewed <br />the anticipated project timeline and the three actions before the Council tonight. <br />D. Miller asked for details on the alignment of the Thunder Bay/Westwinds trail. The City Engineer <br />explained the details of the trail project noting that the two trail projects will join at the pedestrian <br />ramp and providing details on the anticipated timeline of each. <br />Mayor Fischer asked if it would be anticipated that additional project costs could arise during the <br />project. The City Engineer replied that although they are requesting a budget transfer, the overall <br />project cost is under budget, and they did receive good pricing. He noted that the project does still <br />include contingency funding as well. The Public Works Director provided additional details on cost <br />savings that staff would continue to seek. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that Miller Excavating is not a contractor he is familiar with and asked if <br />staff is aware of the contractor. The City Engineer commented that Bolton & Menk does have <br />experience with the contractor. The Public Works Director noted a project within the last two years <br />that Miller Excavating completed relating to a pond clean out. <br />2 <br />
