<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Eric Seaburg, P.E., City Engineer <br /> <br />DATE: March 13, 2024 <br /> <br />RE: 2024 Street Improvements <br /> <br />ACTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Motion to authorize a budget transfer from Fund 450 to Fund 603 in the amount of $102,000. <br /> <br />Motion to award the 2024 Street Improvements to Miller Excavating Inc. in the amount of <br />$1,081,937.60. <br /> <br />Motion to authorize Change Order #1 to Miller Excavating Inc. in the amount of $120,272.79 for <br />additional trail paving along the Thunder Bay / Westwinds Park Trail. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On February 28, 2024, bids were opened for the 2024 Street Improvements Project. The project <br />includes the following street areas: <br /> <br />• Country Drive (Project No. 2024-PW43) <br />o South Owasso Blvd to MNNR Railroad <br />o Includes Ditch Cleaning <br />• Jackson Street (Project No. 2024-PW42) <br />o Little Canada Road to 520’ South <br />• MNNR Railroad Ditch Cleaning (Project No. 2024-Storm 10) <br />o 880’ West of Country Drive & 60’ East <br />• Park Trail Replacement (Project Nos. 2024-Parks 29, 2024-Parks 37) <br />o Pioneer Park and Thunder Bay Trail <br /> <br />The following is a summary of the bids received: <br /> <br /> Bidders Total Bid <br /> Engineer’s Estimate $1,200,432.00 <br />1 Miller Excavating, Inc. $1,081,937.60 <br />2 Northwest Asphalt $1,165,347.55 <br />3 Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $1,152,063.45 <br />4 Valley Paving, Inc. $1,183,735.70
