<br />Does your municipality offer paid parental leave? <br /> <br /> <br />Respondents that offer paid leave were asked to provide the amount of leave offered annually. <br />Various amounts and situations for use were provided: <br />• 80 hours <br />• 6 weeks <br />• 120 hours per pregnancy <br />• 40 hours <br />• 240 hours <br />• 3 weeks <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />• Varying <br />o Natural Birth or Adoption <br />▪ 160 hours for birthing <br />mother/primary <br />caregiver <br />▪ 80 hours for spouse or <br />nonprimary caregiver <br />o Cesarean Birth <br />▪ 200 hours for birthing <br />mother <br />▪ 120 hours for spouse <br /> <br />Does your municipality offer paid parental leave in addition to federally provided leave? <br /> <br />The Federal Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides 12 weeks of protection for qualifying events. <br />This leave is unpaid, and a variety of situation-based stipulations determine leave eligibility. Due <br />to the variables involved, staff was specifically interested in analyzing how those who provide <br />paid parental leave in addition to FMLA. Responses varied, with most including the paid <br />parental leave within the federally protected leave (not in addition to). <br /> <br /> <br />
