MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DUNE 129 2024 <br />Pete Deanovic, Buhl Investors, stated that there were conflicting views on housing from the <br />community. He commented that the market dynamics today make housing construction difficult. He <br />provided details on housing rent viability and additional information on how activating this area could <br />create more movement and activity in the corridor. He noted additional benefits that would be <br />provided through station area planning as well as funds that could be available to develop that plan. <br />Ms. Elliott and Mr. Deanovic provided kay takeaways and recommendations for the other two City <br />owned properties that were studied. Additional recommendations were provided on City infrastructure <br />priorities within the corridor, City programmatic priorities, and the next steps. <br />T. Miller commented that she had not even considered some of this information and it was wonderful <br />to see. She thanked the consultants for their work. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that this provides a different lens to enhance these properties rather than <br />simply thinking of protecting those properties. He commented that it was also nice to see that the <br />business owners have a vision for the future and want to see additional development as well. Ms. <br />Elliott commented on the level of investment that some of these businesses have in the community, <br />which is great to see. <br />Mayor Fischer expressed thanks and appreciation on behalf of the Council for this insight and the time <br />necessary to develop these recommendations. He recognized that this is a first step and appreciated the <br />external view and expertise those involved bring. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />,. — APPRO VING THE CONSENT A GENDA WHICH <br />CONTAINS <br />• Approval of the Vouchers <br />• Approve Application to Conduct Off -Site Gambling for Little Canada Canadian Days <br />Inc. for August 2-4, 2024 <br />• Approve a Temporary Liquor License for Little Canada Recreation Association for <br />August 2-4, 2024 <br />• Approve Partial Pay No. 1 to Miller Excavating for 2024 Improvement Projects <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D. Miller. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />APPROVE HIRE OF RECREATION COORDINATOR <br />The City Clerk stated that the last day of the Recreation Coordinator was May 17', which then led to <br />the hiring process to fill that position. She reviewed the application and interview process, noting that <br />one candidate was ultimately selected, Emelie Lindabaur, who is anticipated to start on June 24tn <br />0) <br />
