2 <br />2.Opt-In Provision for Townhome Developments: <br />a.Existing Developments: Townhome developments existing before the effective date of <br />this amendment will have the option to opt into the revised guidelines voluntarily. The <br />city will work closely with these developments to facilitate a smooth transition. <br />b.New Developments: All new townhome developments within the city boundaries will <br />automatically adhere to the updated waste management regulations outlined in Chapter <br />809. <br />Community Impact: <br />The proposed text amendment ensures that waste management regulations remain adaptable to the <br />changing urban landscape. The inclusion of new residential zoning categories and the introduction <br />of an opt-in provision for townhome developments reflect a commitment to environmentally <br />sustainable practices and the well-being of our community. <br />Attachments: <br />Please see the draft City Code Chapter 809, attached. <br />Public Hearing: <br />A Text Amendment within the City Code does not require a Public Hearing. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />To recommend approval of a Text Amendment to Amend City Code Chapter 809 – Mixed <br />Municipal Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials Storage and Collection.
