MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> (Cont'd.) <br /> January 9, 1980 <br /> Mrs. Gallagher reported that some of the sights the seniors are <br /> interested in for the location of this development are in the order <br /> of their preference: the Cardinal Property; the Shrier Property; <br /> the Collova property on McMenemy. <br /> P+lrs. Gallagher requested that the Council take some action on acquiring <br /> ttie location for the senior housing complex. Gallagher stated that <br /> the Council should act quickly as applications for financing must be <br /> in by the middle of "r~arch, otherwise the project vaould have to wait <br /> until next year. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that he has asked the City Clerk to put together <br /> a plat of the various areas where such a housing complex could be <br /> located. Fahey mentioned that there is some property on Minnesota <br /> Avenue also which might lend itself to such a development. Fahey <br /> stated that the Council should make some type of decision on the <br /> location of the complex so that the City Attorney could start negotiating <br /> for the property. <br /> Council discussed holding a special meeting to look at sites for the <br /> housing complex within the next week. The Council asked the Attorney <br /> if this would violate the open meeting law if the Council held a <br /> meeting without having enough time to advertise the meeting. <br /> Attorney Parks stated that under the emergency clause of the open <br /> meeting law the Council could call a special meeting. <br /> Mayor Nanson stated that he would like to declare an emergency and <br /> call a special meeting for Saturday, January 12, at 11:00 A.f4. to begin <br /> in the City Center. The Council will then proceed to visit possible <br /> sites for the senior citizen housing complex. <br /> <br /> Cable TV Mayor Hanson reported that P1r. Tarnowski will chair the City's Cable <br /> <br /> Committee TV Committee. The Committee will be having their first meeting very <br /> shortly. <br /> Park Carl Spooner reported that the Park Commission has a few projects <br /> Commission that were unfinished at the end of 1979 and would like the Council, <br /> Report to note this so that the amounts budgeted for these projects in 1979 <br /> are set aside until the completion of the projects. <br /> Awarding The Tree Inspector, Tom fiorwath, reported that the City only received <br /> 1980 Tree one bid for 1980 tree removal, That bid was from Haynes Tree Service <br /> bid in the amount of $5,303,00. Last year the awarded bid was in the <br /> amount of $2,731.00. The amount of the bid for 1980 includes cutting, <br /> hauling and removing stumps. <br /> page -1?.- <br /> <br />
