Hanson suggested that <br /> 'the City should look ahead and buy the building if it can. <br /> Councilman DeBace stated that the City should determine if it has any <br /> use for the school building, and if so, buy it. <br /> tu1r. Radford suggested that a committee be formed to determine if there <br /> is a need in the City for the old Little Canada school building. <br /> f~1ayor Hanson stated that the City must also consider the land. Frank <br /> 4Jiniecki stated that this is the only piece of land near the City Center <br /> that is available at this time. <br /> Councilwoman Scatze reported that the appraisals on the property should <br /> be ready about February 1. The appraisals will probably be on land value <br /> only. The property is zoned R-1 and that vain eFfect the appraisals. <br /> F4ayor Hanson suggested that perhaps the Council, Planning Commission, <br /> Park Commission, Flistorical Society, 55 Plus Club should get together <br /> as a group and submit possible uses for the old Little Canada school building. <br /> Hanson stated that he would get such a meeting together in the next couple <br /> of weeks, perhaps on a Friday evening. In the meantime, all of these groups <br /> can try to put together possible uses for the building. <br /> Brad Nielson asked whether the revisions he has made in the proposer! <br /> Subdivision Ordinance are correct. Nielson also stated that 'the park <br /> charge section on page In will be revised to reflect the passage of <br /> Ordinance #1161. <br /> Dick Boss stated he would like to see page 14 remain as is, that is that <br /> park charges for developments would be based on the market value on the <br /> property's tax statement. <br /> P4r. Nielson stated that the ordinance still provides that the City has <br /> the choice of requiring either cash or land for the park charge. <br /> Virginia Fisher suggested putting the park charge on the general tax rolls. <br /> Boss stated he felt this was unfair to those who {lave at ready paid. <br /> Virginia Fisher then suggested charging the park charge on the assessed <br /> value p1 us putting a fear mills extra on the tax rolls. <br /> Dick Boss stated that the City should not charge the lowest possible fee <br /> for park charges, but remain in the middle. <br /> Dick Boss put a motion on the floor for action by the Planning Commission <br /> to accept the proposed Subdivision Qrdi~ance as is with Section 1007.Oa10 <br /> of the ordinance as is - that the park charge should be determined by <br /> the market value of the property as determined by the Ramsey County <br /> Property Tax Listing. Jack Radford seconded that motion. <br /> Ayes (3) Dick Boss, Jack Radford, Frank 4Jiniecki. <br /> Playes (2) Virginia Fisher, Dennis Forsberg. <br /> Abstained (1) Gene Delonais. <br /> Page -n- <br /> <br />
