Hanson stated that the <br /> residents of Iona Lane are in favor of this development as long as <br /> Iona Lane is buffered from it. The Council is also considering <br /> applying for a block yrant to purchase a portion of the Scheier <br /> property for a park. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that the City has to get an option on the <br /> Scheier property. The City would probably need two or three acres <br /> for the senior citizen developrnerrt. The City will try to get an <br /> option 'For the remaining Scheier property for either use as a park <br /> or possibly another senior citizen development in the future. <br /> Councilman DeBace suggested that the Plelson property, which is <br /> approximately 4.2II acres, adould be another possibility for a <br /> senior citizen housing development. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that the property on Little Canada Road <br /> and Jackson could also he a possibility. <br /> Council must obtain an option on the Scheier property by a March <br /> 31, 19II0 deadline. <br /> Discussion of Brad Pdielson submitted to the Council and Planning Commission members <br /> Subdivision final copies of the proposed Subdivision Ordinance. Nielson reported <br /> and 7..oning that the only change in the ordinance is the removal of any reference <br /> Ordinance Of to amounts of money in the section dealing with park land dedication <br /> The Comprehen- fees. The Subdivision Ordinance has been referenced to the City's <br /> sive Plan Ordinance 1'1 G1 which sets these fees. <br /> Mayor Hanson reported that at the January 17, 19II0 special meetiny <br /> the Planniny Commission recommended to the Council that park land <br /> dedication fees be based on the market value of a property instead <br /> of the assessed value. <br /> Council will consider this recommendation at the February regular <br /> Council meeting. <br /> The Council previously recommended that the park land dedication fee <br /> for a single family home be :300.00. Pete Costa stated that he felt <br /> this amount was ridiculous and should remain at the $100.00 fee which <br /> is presently charged. Councilman DeBace also stated that he was not <br /> in favor of increasing the fee fora single family home to `G300.00. <br /> fair.
