He will be checking 'the
City's ordinance to see if this is allowed. The Planner also stated
that under 'the Zoning Administrative Assistant proposal he vaould be
checking on compliance with landscaping plans. These are two examples
of what the Zoning Administrative Assistant would. be checking.
Councilman DeBace suggested that the Planner could coordinate these
types of things with the Building Inspector.
Councilman Fahey suggested this be tried on a trial basis. Fahey suggested
that 'the City Clerk keep track of the time spent with the Planner on this
to see if the proposal is working out.
P~tr. Nadeau introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. G, Page 35.
Length Of Councilwoman Scalze questioned the City Attorney how long a plan approval
Plan fora development was good. In the case of Ar.Mon Properties, they received
Approval plan approval for some ofr'ice buildings. It now appears that they may
not build the buildings. Scalze was vvondering if Ar.Mon decided to
go ahead with the development at a much later date, if the Council's
approval was still in effect.
The Attorney stated that there should be provision in the City's ordinance
'tha't Council approval terminates after a certain lengi:h of time. Perhaps
a time period of one year should be set.
Scalze stated that this should be included in the neva Zoning Ordinance.
'ihe Planner stated that if this was included 'in 'the new 7_oniny Ordinance
any prior approvals would have a time period for the development to get
underway from the effective date rrF the ordinance. The Attorney suggested
that the Ordinance say that: approval of a development plan supposes that
the developer intends to go ahead with the project within a reasonable
amount of Lime and then set out what that reasonable amount of time is.
Pane -7-
