MINUTES
City Council
(Cont'd.)
February 21, 1980
Mr. McNamara stated that he would like to sell the City all of the
residentially zoned property in this area that he and Mr. Jacobson
own. Councilman Fahey stated that the intent of his motion was to
include all the residential property. There is slightly over three
acres of residential property.
Councilman DeBace suggested that the City Engineer let the Council
know the conditions of this propertyo
Council also felt that an architect should be persuaded to give the
Council a rendering of what the development will look like on this
site.
Mrs. Scalze asked if it were possible to get an option on this
property with the intents of using it as high density, when it is,
in fact, not yet zoned for high density. The Attorney stated that
the City could make the purchase contingent on the rezoning of the
property.
Councilman DeBace stated that even if the City does not make the March
31 deadline, there are other options available to the City to get this
project developed. Hanson stated that the City only has to have an
option on the land by March 31.
Troy Colvard of 60 LaBore Road asked if the City would hold another
hearing before this property was rezoned. Councilman DeBace stated
that the Council must hold a public hearing on the rezoning of any
property.
Attorney Parks suggested that he contact Mr. Stegeberg to see if he
can get him to give the Council two or three renderings of how the
development will fit the property. Parks stated that he would have
Mr. Stegeberg meet him at the site and Parks will give him the
Council's general aims for the development. Parks stated that he
would let the Council know when they would be going to the site so
any interested Councilmembers could also be present.
Councilman Fahey suggested that the Council call a special meeting
to have the attorney present the purchase price of the property 'to
the Council and any architectural renderings he is able to obtain.
Council called a special meeting for Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 P.M.
in the City Center for the above mentioned purpose.
Councilman DeBace stated that the Engineer should also present a
sketch showing the residential portion of this property and any easements,
location of utilities and soil conditions of the property.
Page -7-
