<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> (Cont'd.) <br /> March 12, 19II0 <br /> Senior Johanna Gallagher reported to the Council that she has 132 names of <br /> Citizens seniors interested in senior citizen housing. Mrs. Gallagher has <br /> Report submitted these names to Steve Rice of the Community Development <br /> Corporation, and he determined that 64 of the people would be eligible <br /> for subsidized housing. <br /> Mrs. Gallagher reported that the majority of these people either live <br /> in Little Canada, or once lived in the area. <br /> Cable TV There was no one present from the Cable TV Committee to report to the <br /> Council. <br /> Park There was no one present from the Park Commission to report to the <br /> Commission Council, <br /> Amending Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> The <br /> Agenda To RESOLUTION N0. 80-3-114 - AMENDING TI1E AGENDA TO HEAR <br /> Hear Items ITEMS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> From The <br /> Floor The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br /> Ayes (5) DeBace, Fahey, Scalze, Flanson, Nadeau. <br /> Nayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 73. <br /> Hammond Mr. Donald Sowdow of 681 East County Road B-2 appeared before the Council. <br /> Land Mr. Sowdow stated that it has come to his attention that the Council <br /> Filling recently passed a resolution permitting the filling of the Hammond <br /> property on County Road B-2 which is located just east of his property. <br /> N1r. Sowdow asked the Council if they received a letter from Mr. Hammond's <br /> attorney which stated that Mr. Hammond was willing to sell his property <br /> to the City. <br /> Mayor Hanson stated that the Council did receive a letter from Mr. <br /> Hammond's attorney. Mayor Flanson read that letter out loud to the <br /> audience. Hanson stated that it was not his opinion from reading the <br /> letter that the property was for sale. Hanson stated that the letter <br /> states that if Mr. Flammond is not granted permission to fill his <br /> property and build a home on the property, the City should acquire <br /> this property by eminent domain. <br /> Councilman Nadeau stated that he agreed with this opinion. Nadeau <br /> stated that if Mr. Hammond was not allowed to use his property, Mr. <br /> Hammonds attorney is suggesting that the property be condemned. <br /> Mr. Sowdow stated that at one time Mr. Nadeau made the comment that <br /> this would be the thing to do - condemn the property. <br /> Page -6- <br /> <br />
