MINUTES
City Council
(Cont'd.)
March 26, 1980
Nielson stated that on page 14 of the Ordinance the phrase "non-
conforming" would be added to paragraph B.
On page 15 the Section entitled 903.020 C., 3. will be deleted.
Mr. Nielson stated that the provision requiring that outdoor swimming
pools be fenced with a three-foot fence will be added to page 16.
Council recommended that this be changed to require that swimming
pools be fenced with a four-foot fence. The City Attorney stated that
this requirement could not apply retroactively to existing swimming pools.
Mr. Nielson asked the Council if they wanted to discuss limitations on
boundary-line fences. Mrs. Scalze stated that the Building Inspector
has raised some questions on this. Scalze stated that the fence the
City has around the water tower is in violation of City Code.
Councilman Fahey suggested that for business and industrial property
boundary-line fences should be a minimum of 6 feet and a maximum of
8 feet.
Mr. Nielson stated that the fence portion of the Ordinance should refer
to not only chain link fences, but also woven wire fences. This will
be added.
Mr. Nielson informed the Council that on page 17, G.1. will also
require that a landscape plan will include a bid from a certified
nurseryman.
Nielson informed Council that paragraph N. on page 19 will provide for
the legitimate and timely restoration of antique vehicles.
On page 22 of the proposed Zoning Ordinance the new parking table
previously submitted to the Council and Planning Commission will be
substituted for the one present:Ly in the Ordinance.
On page 23 under paragraph m., striping can be either white or yellow.
Mrs. Scalze suggested that under paragraph p. on page 23 the curbing
around metal buildings should be no closer than 5 feet from the building
wall rather than 3 feet.
On page 23 under paragraph E. the phrase "and any required curbing" will
be added as previously suggested.
Mr. Nielson stated that on page 28 under paragraph G. changes will be
made to reflect that one loading berth will be required for each building,
or one berth for each 10,000 square feet of floor area. Also, that when
determining off-street loading spaces, each fraction of 1/2 or more shall
constitute another space.
Page -5-
