MINUTES
CITY Council
(Cont'd.)
March 26, 19Fi0
Councilman Fahey stated that home occupations are permitted unless they
are objected to to the extent that they become a nuisance or if they
are specifically defined.
Attorney Parks commented that the Ordinance cannot be too vague,
however, it may be difficult to list all home occupations.
Fahey commented that a home occupation must meet permit standards,,.
otherwise they are non-permit>
Council discussed the types of equipment that should be permitted for
use in a home occupation. Parks suggested that the Council prohibit
the type of equipment that might be objectionable.
Councilman Fahey suggested that paragraph 2. e. of this home occupation
section should reflect that a repair service or manufacturing which
utilizes equipment or machinery so as to violate provisions 1. a. and b.
above would be prohibited. Also section 1. b. above should read
"equipment or machinery" rather than just "equipment".
Mr. Nielson stated that 3. b. contained a typographical error and the
word "lessions" should be "lessons".
On page 31 of the proposed ordinance the sentence "Storage of
recreational vehicles and recreational equipment." vaould be substituted
under Section 905.030 B.
Mrs. Scalze stated that on page 31 she was opposed to the ratio of two
family dwellings to a single family dwellings in a single block being
2 in 10. Scalze wanted this lowered to 1 in 10. The rest of the
Council agreed with this suggestion.
Mr. Nielson stated that on page 33 Section 906 will be omitted entirely
and subsequent numbering will be changed accordingly.
On page 34 under Section 907.030 A. shall read "All permitted accessory
uses allowed in an "R-1" District except agricultural equipment."
Mr. Nielson also stated that the lot sizes on pages 34 and 35 will be
changed as previously suggested.
Mr. Nielson stated that on page 39 5. a. "twenty-five (25)" will be
changed to "fifteen (15)".
Mr. Nielson~nformed the Council that Section 91II of the Ordinance will
be reserved for future use.
On Page 62 the title was changed to include rezonings, and paragraph A
the phrase "accompanied by an abstractor's certificate" will be noted
to refer to a mailing list being acceptable that was obtained from a
managers or homeowners association in the case of a townhouse or
condominium development.
Page -7-
